- Regulation of Short-Term Rentals - Many towns are considering adopting ordinances regulating short-term rentals. Recently, the Connecticut General Assembly adopted legislation expressly authorizing municipalities to regulate short-term rentals, including requiring licensure of such rental units, PA 24-143, Section 7. The Office of Legislative Research issued a report on this topic outlining which towns already regulate short-term rentals, either by ordinance or zoning codes, and towns which require registration.
